End of Year Updates.....

 As the year draws to a close (how is that even possible!) we remind you of some of the new developments that have occurred this year and let you know about the new things planned for 2023.


Sound meditation new evening session
As many of you will know by now, the late part of 2022 saw the reintroduction of our regular morning sound meditation held every two weeks on a Tuesday morning.  It's been wonderful to see this group grow and introduce new people to the benefits of sound meditation.

A lot of you have been asking for an evening session and so we will begin with a monthly sound meditation session, one Saturday evening each month.  This will be a 60 minute session, ideal for beginners who may find the 90 minute sound and guided meditation session a little daunting.

2 hour massages
I was getting more and more requests from people for 2 hour sessions and so this will be added to the website soon and is now available as a treatment option.

There are 2 hour Swedish therapeutic massage therapy, 2 hour deep tissue therapy or a 90 minute deep tissue therapy with a 30 minute face and head massage.  


Major renovation works at the studio
With business continuing to expand and the studio space being able to be used to its greater potential now that people are feeling more comfortable returning to larger/group settings, it has been a plan for some time to get the studio renovated and given a fresh lease of life.

Many of you may have noticed whilst attending your sessions, the gradual changes that have been happening at the studio and they are continuing to happen!  Over the Christmas period whilst the studio was closed for two days, the painters have been in stripping the plaster and redoing the walls. 

We are part way there and over the next three weeks the studio will continue to have some renovation works carried out inline with some of the newer elements planned for the studio. It will not clash or impact on your therapy sessions, rest assured. We will be placing glass mirrors on one wall and creating our exercise rehab space to be able to provide you with an opportunity to learn key exercises to build up the core muscles, working on strengthening weak or affected muscles, reduce pain and increase mobility.



Rehab exercises at the end of sessions
Many people ask for exercises to help relieve their muscular aches and pains but don't feel comfortable or confident carrying out the exercises given and so we're in the process of launching this element from 5th January.  It will be possible to add on an additional 15 - 30 minutes exercise session 
at the end of your therapy treatment in the studio.

The 15 minute session will focus on going through and showing you key exercises that focus upon your problem areas, ensuring you know how to do these exercises so you can go away and do them at home in between the session.  Follow up sessions will allow us to check you're doing them correctly, make any adjustments, add on new exercises and support you to keep up the exercises, providing that additional motivation.

The 30 minute session is an opportunity to be shown how to do key exercises both for your problem areas and a chance to see how exercise can be fun, something we can add in on a regular basis and a way of keeping you in best possible shape.  It's an ideal session for those who struggle to do exercise and need a little motivation.  Great for beginners to find ways to exercise that they can fit into their everyday life and those why may need a little push. Movement is medicine!

Exercise doesn't have to be difficult or confusing and with these exercises we can show you how to get the best out of it and provide a space within which to comfortably and with supervision, carry out the exercises.  Strength and mobility exercise is that missing link between massage/hands on therapy and resolving those problem areas.



These simple rehab/beginner exercise sessions will be conducted by myself at the end of the session. The 30 minute session can be booked in as a stand alone treatment too.

We are currently setting up the rehab spaces with a variety of equipment and machines and look forward to sharing the pics with you soon.

Indi-ssentials gift sets



In our renovation process we have updated our shop space for the Indi-ssentials range.  We have many products available these days from body oils to hair oils, lip balms, scrubs, oil burner oils, room sprays and candles!  Plenty of items to choose from, not forgetting our extensive balm range which caters for a variety of issues including our muscle ease balms, congestion/cold relief balm, to our calm and stress free balm.  

We've also introduced our gift sets!  Launched just before Christmas, these make a great present for someone's birthday or simply to treat a friend or loved one.

New addition to the team



The biggest and exciting piece of news is the introduction of Mahela, physiotherapist, manual therapist and personal trainer.  Originally from Italy, she will be working 3 morning a week from the studio here in C scheme.  She has years of experience, a deep understanding of the body and the mindset to help you get your body more balanced and address aches and pains in ways different to other physiotherapists.   You can organise an appointment direct with her.  Appointments will need to be scheduled in advance.  I have a feeling she will be in high demand and it's wonderful to have her skills and expertise available.  She is a great addition, especially as massage and physiotherapy go hand in hand.

Importance of Movement

 As many of you who have treatments with me will know, I am forever stressing how movement is key to our overall body health.  Movement is so important and it doesn't have to be confined to specific exercises or visiting the gym, the art of simply moving, whether big movements like running or jumping or small stretches or putting music on and dancing around the room, it's all a way of moving the body and creating that space and flexibility in the body.




I'm often asked what the secret to good body health is and i can't stress enough the importance of movement.  Movement is your own kind of medicine!

How can movement help?

When we sit still muscles get shortened and we can eventually have muscle wastage from lack of use.  Movement allows us to warm up the muscles, increases the range of motion, build up muscle tone, increase flexibility within the muscle and elongate muscles that have become shortened.  

When we are so inactive our muscles become weak and provide less stability and strength for our body.  This weakness and instability can lead to muscle aches and pains.  By strengthening and moving the body you create a more balanced and healthier body.

Movement can also help to pick up our mood.  When we are feeling down or lethargic we may not want to do much of anything but when we exercise endorphins are released which help uplift us.  That movement gets the whole system going again and gives us the boost of energy.  Next time you don't feel like doing much, why not get up and move even if only for a few minutes and then notice how you feel afterwards and if you have a boost of energy.

Movement is key! Let it be your medicine.

Small Group Sound Meditation Session this Sunday 12th June

It's back! 

It's taken some time and we are starting off slowly.....but our sound meditation group is back once more!

We've four spaces available due to us using the small space this summer.

It will be a wonderful blend of different sounds used to evoke emotion as well as a feeling of calmness.

A blend of guided meditation will be used to help put you in a relaxed and at ease state before a range of instruments used to help bring about balance in body and mind.

There's nothing required from you other than to make yourself comfortable and get ready to experience the sounds of the singing bowls, Shamanic drum, rainmaker and many other instruments.

Switch off, relax, soothe and find that inner calm.

The Return of Sound Meditation Groups

 It's been a while coming and we have so missed running our regular sound meditation group which had to be put on hold due to covid.  However as we all navigate a return to normal life, it feels time to resume some of our services once again and we are so happy to be bringing sound meditation groups back again!

Fortunately we'd still been able to run private individual and group sound meditations sessions during this time but it is such a great feeling to be able to have our public group back again.

Since we did our public group sessions, several new instruments have been added to the collection, including a beautiful singing bowl I purchased whilst in Ladakh, close to the Tibetan border.  It has a wonderful energy from the mountains.



Then there is our beautifully sounding Shamanic drum from Indonesia.  It has such a deep hypnotic vibration to it.



Lastly we have the koshi bell.  An ethereal sounding mixture of chimes all in one unit, that create an uplifting sound.


Three beautiful additions to join the ocean drum, rain maker and the ever expanding collection of singing bowls.

New Year wishes...and changes ahead!

 


Happy New Year!  It's great to be waving goodbye to 2021 and welcoming in 2022.  Although we are off to a rocky start with the surge in covid cases, it feels like we have to carry on, safely but surely until we hear otherwise.  It's nice to be welcoming in another year and hopefully one that will be better than the last crazy one!  Each year is what we make of it, so lets make it a good one😊

Whilst there is uncertainty a reminder that Jaipur Remedial Therapies, continues to follow its strict protocols and is always adapting to the current situation.


2021 was a great year for J.R,T and it's been wonderful to see many regular faces and new clients come on board too and for me to be able to work with a range of issues and help people where I can.


Here is what 2022 has to offer including a reminder of what else J.R.T offers, for our new clients.

CLOSED ON SATURDAYS AND WEDNESDAYS

Sadly late 2021 also saw a lot of very last minute cancellations which is not only frustrating to myself but others who had wanted the slot but missed out.  Please consider if you can keep your appointment and if not, cancel at the earliest convenience.  With that in mind I've decided to revert back to having the studio closed two days a week instead of one (covid rules may affect things too!)
With the number of cancellations, there doesn't seem the need to offer as many days and this will allow the time to focus on my other projects such as my NGO work that i will be doing weekly, plus Indi-ssentials which continues to progress.

So going forward, the studio will be closed once more on Wednesdays and Saturdays.  All other days it will be open 8am to 8pm (6.30pm last session)

HOME VISITS

The popularity of the studio is growing and it's wonderful to be welcoming more people into this tranquil space.  Whilst home visits are provided they are done so only where transport is provided by the client and at an additional cost to what a studio visit is.  This is because we have created a wonderful, relaxing, soothing space to work from at the studio where sessions can be enjoyed.

HOT STONE MASSAGE

The weather outside is certainly cold! So now is the perfect time to be enjoying a hot stone massage! These take place at the studio only and are the ideal treatment for winter, as i am sure many of you will agree.

The heat penetrates beautifully through the muscles, not only providing a blast of heat but helping to relax and reduce muscle tension too.  The heat works deeper into the muscles, helping to break down the tension but in a more soothing and gentle way than deep tissue massage does.  Relax, restore & rejuvenate.



MEDITATION FOR THE NEW YEAR

A reminder as well of the meditation services we provide at J.R.T and New Year is certainly the perfect time to experience meditation, creating some peace and space to affirm your thoughts for the year ahead.  Our public group sessions had to stop but we do offer one to one or private small group sessions both for our guided meditation and our sound meditation.

Guided meditation is an ideal way to start this new year and allows us to weave affirmations and personal beliefs and wants into the session.  Sound meditation is super relaxing and ideal for those who struggle with conventional meditation.  A use of instruments are used to create a range of tones and vibrations which wash over you and provide a cleansing space to find that silence.



SCAR TISSUE TRAINING

As some of you know, I undertook scar tissue training in 2021 and had the fortune to be able to carry out this on several clients.  Having a scar worked allows for scar tissue to be broken down.  Some of this scar tissue may have been restricting movement or adding to tension within the muscles so it's great to have the opportunity to have them worked on.

ADVANCED MUSCULAR SKELETAL TRAINING

Further training for 2022 involves undertaking a course by Eric Dalton, a highly respected massage therapist renowned for his further educational courses. The course will focus on advanced muscular skeletal issues to continue to enhance my knowledge in this field.  I look forward to partaking in this course and bringing some of my training into future sessions.

INDI-SSENTIALS PRODUCT RANGE

Our Indi-ssentials aromatherapy range has had a booster year with some of our new products such as the room sprays and additional candle scents selling well, whilst firm favourites such as the muscle ease balm and face oil continue to prove both popular and especially helpful at living up to their requirements.  

Indi-ssentials is our natural, aromatherapy product business, made by myself and my helper at the studio here in C Scheme.  As clients of J.R.T you get access to a special discounted price.  Please ask for a pdf product brochure or check them out on your next visit to the studio.  So if you're wanting to purchase your own body oil, something for the hair, a nice natural soy candle or a linen spray to freshen things up, then look no further.
