June Already!
We are now at the halfway point for the year! Another year is flying by. The half way mark is a wonderful opportunity for reassessing and reflecting on where we are at and any changes we may wish to make for the latter part of the year.
I hope everyone has had a lovely summer season, with opportunities for travel, visiting family and enjoying the quieter side of Jaipur. Monsoon must be just around the corner now, it's certainly feeling humid which can also leave us feeling drained and less motivated, not to mention more aches and pains are apparent.
It's been quite some time since I've done a blog post, but will try and get into the regular habit of doing them. There's been a lot happening at J.R.T since i last wrote with new treatments coming soon.
Reminder of treatments we offer
Firstly, a reminder of the treatments we offer at J.R.T. A few of you have been asking what all treatments we offer and so am listing here for easy reference.
Deep tissue/remedial massage
-Myofascial release-Soft tissue release
-Mobilisation technique
Our deep tissue and remedial massage therapy sessions are our signature treatments. We incorporate a range of modules such as the ones listed above in order to bring you treatments that are effective, get into those problem areas and bring lost lasting results.
All our remedial treatments incorporate myofascial release, by working on the fascia (the body is covered in a layer of fascia), we are able to remove restrictions and free up tight tissue that has remained stuck.
In our deep tissue and remedial treatments we don't just incorporate one modality but include several ranging from myofascial release, soft tissue release, trigger point therapy & mobilisation techniques. In future blog posts i will explain what each one is.
Therapeutic/relaxation massage therapy
This is our more relaxing, de-stressing treatment, ideal for those who prefer a more gentler and soothing treatment but that still feels like it provides some muscular relief and eases up tension both physically and mentally.
Hot stone massage therapy
A great treatment for the winter, using hot balsamic stones to bring a blast of heat to the muscles. We massage with the stones as if they were our hands and the hot stones glide over the muscles. Relaxing yet helping to break down tension.
Dry needling with infra red
Our dry needling therapy has grown in popularity as many of you find it effective at getting into those tight muscles and providing a greater release when teamed with deep tissue. It's been especially helpful for lower back issues, shoulder problems, neck tension and tightness in the calves and IT band. We're also teaming it with the infra red lamp so that the infra red works in conjuction with the needles to provide deep relief.
Massage with sound meditation
Another very popular session is our deep tissue or therapeutic massage session followed by a 30 minute sound meditation session. Bringing you your own private sound meditation. It's a wonderful way to switch off, relax especially as the mind is already at ease from the massage. The sounds take you further into that tranquil and still space. Deeply restorative and deeply relaxing.
Guided meditation sessions
Our guided meditation session can be book as individual or group sessions. An opportunity to be guided into a deep, relaxed, meditative state and taken on a soulful journey to ease worries, reduce stress and anxiety and switch off the mind.
Sound meditation this week
We have our Saturday sound meditation happening this Saturday. We'd love to see some of you there. The next session after this will be the following month on 25th July. Get in touch to book your space.
Collecting old shoes for donation
Some of you may remember that in conjunction with Saksham NGO, we are selling hair scrunchies at the studio. They're very cute, nicely made and in a range of different colours and patterns to choose from. All profits go to the NGO and the women who make them. A means of supporting employment for the women. It's Jaipur based too.
In addition, we are collecting old shoes, ones which can no longer be donated to house staff, that are ready to be thrown or simply no longer wanted. These are being collected by Greensole NGO.
New things coming to the studio
In April I started my training into spinal manipulation and am currently completing some of my self studies but look forward to offering this in the coming months. Further details regarding this will follow but it will work on releasing the spine/skeletal system in conjunction with the remedial work we offer. Aligning the skeleton as well as working effectively on the muscles. Continuing to try and provide the best release we can for clients.
We also have a lovely new piece of equipment at the studio, an inversion table. An inversion table provides a safe and secure way to hang at an angle/upside down. This can be great for people with chronic back problems, sciatica and disc problems as it can reduce the pressure on the spine and allow for some space between the vertebrae. It relieves pressure on compressed discs and nerves. We're looking at the best way to incorporate this into what we do and will offer more on this in the next blog post.
J.R.T closed for 2 weeks from 29th June.
Hopefully many of you have had a relaxing break in this time and managed to do some traveling. I myself will be traveling from Monday 29th June until 17th July inclusive as i will take a holiday in Europe.
There are still spaces these last few days before i go, otherwise i look forward to seeing many of you on my return in the middle of July. Do get in touch if you would like to schedule something before I go.
Have a great weekend!
